Oscar Garcia attended this exclusive event aboard a restored Eastern Air Lines DC-7 to launch what will surely be a landmark commercial aviation museum in the world. The envisioned museum will be located taxiway side at the Opa-Locka airport and will feature a vast historical aircraft collection and gallery displays. A group of South Florida and worldwide aviation leaders have supported the project for over a year organized as a Task Force/Committee/Board within Miami’s South Florida Historical Museum. Oscar Garcia stated “It is an honor and a privilege to serve on the Board with a remarkable group of industry leaders. The significance of commercial aviation in South Florida is the foundation of the industry’s development into the future. I am committed to serving, contributing and advancing the group’s efforts as much as possible. Through our seaplane industry focused subsidiary, IFO, we will endeavor to provide the Museum with a wing dedicated to the aero marine portion of the effort.”
