Embry-Riddle College of Business Industry Advisory Board members’ yearly meeting took place in Daytona Beach November 5-7, 2008. The distinguished Board of Directors met with Dr. Petree Dean of the College of Business to advise on the college’s strategic planning and direction from the industry's viewpoint.

Meetings with faculty ensued and white papers were reviewed, culminating in Board recommendations and action items to enable future internal business models, surplus generating ventures and the highest accreditation levels for the school. Class visits and a student career forum in the 350+ seat auditorium took place with vibrant discussions and ideas sharing.

Oscar Garcia stated “It is an honor and a privilege for me to serve in this Board with its distinguished directors ranging from major airline CFOs to the founder of one of the world’s largest low-cost carriers. The future of Aerospace Business and Management education is critical to the industry and I am glad to add value and to be of service.”

The state of the economy and its impact to graduating students was discussed and forums/panels held for the advisors to provide feedback and guidance to the student body.
