Oscar S. Garcia successfully led and concluded MIU’s second annual VLJ Latin America and Caribbean Summit at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami, Florida.

"The region is showing a phenomenal resilience to the global crisis in terms of general aviation growth and utilization. This is a testament of how well general aviation is ingrained into the day to day life of the region’s business, commercial operators and individuals. The conference unveiled areas of improvement such as infrastructure and governments “buy in” the fact that general aviation assists in their countries’ economic development. The consensus was that even small improvements in the structural challenges to enable private flight growth in the region could produce a tremendous multiplier effect to the 2,500 strong jet and turboprop, over 75 VLJ and over 30,000 piston-powered fleets."

IFC will prepare a conference report, and line up the discussion topics and workshop scope for the 2009 third yearly summit of the event.
