On
June 27, 2008, World City (www.worldcityweb.com),
the South Florida’s leading multi-national business media
group, held its first CEO Roundtable Luncheon Series at
Miami’s Biltmore Hotel. The
launch of the event brought together distinguished CEO’s
from multi sector leading companies.

“ I am proud to partake on the launch of this series of
events, as I predict the conversations and initiatives taken
by such a leading group of executives will have a tangible
impact in the future of South Florida as a global hub for
commerce, culture, humanitarian actions fostering wealth
and geo political stability”
Leading
Miami Attorneys and Counselors at Law Fuerst, Humphrey,
Ittleman, LLP sponsored the elegant lunch offered with impeccable
service.
The
Luncheon’s first speaker was Tom Gales, Caterpillar Latin
America’s Vice President. The presentation gave a macro
economic and geopolitical overview of the region as related
to industrial machinery. The conversation pointed at the
challenges and opportunities that the region presents with
Miami as the traditional hub for North/South trade and developing
East/West trade flows from Asia and Europe. The topics of
free trade and political leadership to foster it were discussed
in lively debate.
General
James T. Hill, US Army retired Four Star and President of
the JT Hill Group, presented his views on the region’s geo-political-military-economic
recent past, present and future. General Hill presented
and shared with the audience his views as a task force member
of the Council on Foreign Relations that published “US-Latin
America Relations: A New Direction for a New Reality.” The
audience responded with questions and insights regarding
the region’s future, the panorama of an Americas free trade
continent and the roadmap to achieve it.
