S. Garcia attends NASA 50th Anniversary event and cocktail
receptions hosted by University of Miami and sponsored by
Space Florida.
As Space Florida Board Advisory Committee member and Beacon
Council member and aviation committee board member, Oscar
S. Garcia attended the cocktail reception, conference and
lunch events on April 18-19th, 2008. Oscar commented “I
would like to express my congratulations to the University
of Miami President, Ms. Shalala and Florida Governor, Honorable
Charlie Crist and their Senior executive teams for holding
this remarkable event in Miami as one of 5 focus cities
in the USA. NASA’s 50th anniversary coincides with
the commercialization of space; suborbital and orbital and
we all look at Miami as a global hub for such activities”
Space Florida and the Beacon Council showed their support
as sponsors and supporters of the vision of a commercially
developed, safe and secure space era in Southern Florida
and specially Miami.
